Trademark Search

Definition of "Trademark Search"
LawDepot's simple or basic Trademark Search searches the U.S. Federal database for registered trademarks to help a person ensure they are not infringing on someone else's trademark. Typically, the person infringing can be forced to stop using the trademark and might have to destroy all materials bearing that trademark. A trademark search minimizes the potential losses in adopting and using a new trademark. Anyone wishing to register a trademark should perform at least a basic trademark search, but a comprehensive trademark search would be safer and would help avoid expensive surprises later on.
